The Department of Communications and the Arts released the Radiocommunications Bill 2017 and an extensive package of information on its website late in May.

To develop a comprehensive response to the government’s draft radiocommunications legislation, the WIA is calling for input from the radio amateur community – including anyone with an interest in the hobby, but not yet licensed.

BUMP - This is important and has a closing date.
BUMP again - closing date is getting close.

The Department of Communications and the Arts, which is conducting the consultation on the Radiocommunications Bill 2017, has advised the WIA that the closing date for submissions to the first stage of consultation has been extended to 28 July 2017, 5:00pm AEST.

A closing date for the WIA to receive submissions from the amateur community will be announced shortly.

In line with this extension, the WIA has extended the deadline for comment on its Radiocommunications Bill Consultation page to 14 July, seeking input from the Amateur radio community. Apart from making your own submission to the government, should you wish to, you can share your views with the WIA on the Radiocommunications Bill 2017 Consultation page. Smile
