I sometimes use Icom's RS-BA1 software to remote control my IC7300. Everything works well except for one thing...I cannot access the memories in the rig.
The software indicates that the memories are empty.
Interestingly, I get the same result when I use HRD (the last freebie version) to control my FT 817. (HRD won't talk to the IC7300 as it is too old)
Does anyone have an idea why this is so.

Nev,
I do not know about RS-BA1 but I do know that HRD 5 will work with the IC-7300.
If you set your radio in HRD to a IC-7700 and change the CI-V to 94 it should work fine.

There is quite a lot of info on the HRD set-up out there.

Thanks Michael, I know about the IC7700 trick but it is the lack of memory access on both platforms that is the problem.
Might be normal. I will investigate further.

RS-BA1 needs the memories set up in software they’re not retrieved from the set.
Thanks ZPD.
That explains it all.
