Hi All,
Has anyone had any success with FT8 on 10m?
I've had the rx on for long periods without a single decode. Obviously I've never got a reply to a CQ.
Does anyone use it, or am I just deaf?
I'd say, Technical activity is a bit low at the moment.
My HF gear is tied up with a Codec2 repeater, (store and re-transmit)
The commercial HF SSB gear manufacturers have gone digital with,
as usual, a proprietary codec. See Codan.
David VK5DGR has developed suitable codec and modem.
See freedv.org download the app, mode 700D, put my callsign in the sent text
and give it a go on 7177KHz LSB.
FT8 is prolific on 20m
Colin
You didn't mention if you have been hearing the FT8 tone sets in your receiver. I haven't heard any at all on 10M the few times I have looked on that band. None heard here on 24MHz, a few on 21, more on 18, a lot on 14, 10 and 7, a few on 3.5 and none on 1.8MHz as observed over the last 5-6 months.
A separate question: does my PSKRepView software show any reports of your transmissions ? If none then either no propagation or no stations..
Doug
Hi Doug,
I get no hits from PSKRepView on 10m and I've never heard a peep via the speaker.
I cleared some space amongst the modelling bibs'n'bobs and had another go this afternoon, still quite quiet on 10 and unsually quiet on 20 and 40.
Your question prompted me to look at the PSKReporter site, it showed only 4 active stations on 10m so I guess that answers the question. I suppose that also says that I should keep trying, as VK2ZIW said above it is prolific on 20, which makes it easy. 10 seems more of a challenge.

Hi Colin
Conditions on 10m on any mode are very poor at this QTH ATM but I only have a vertical. Looking back in my log to last year I did work some JA's on 10m (and surprisingly 6m) with FT8 in September so keep listening.
