Gentlemen,
On the Sunday the 24th of February, the BVHFG will be conducting activity on the microwave bands and as many bands as possible from 1296 MHz & above, activating many portable locations (weather permitting) from 12:00 noon.
So try going to a local lookout or suburban hill top and give it a go.
This event on the Sunday 24th is meant to include the established tradition of "23 on 23" which would otherwise have been held the evening before. Liaison between stations could be on the VK4RBN repeater (now with DCS access), or 146.550 MHz FM simplex, or 439.000 MHz FM simplex.
It would be really great that numbers of South-East Queensland and Northern NSW radio amateurs "seize the day" and go out and have some good clean radio fun on the 24th of this month!
Some members are planning to go to locations like Kamuran Lookout to the South, Toowoomba to the West, Stradbroke Island to the East & Howells Knob to the North, just to start with, but not limited to.
So grab that box under the desk, brush off the cobwebs, poke the antenna up and add some power and try that PTT button out, the airwaves are going to be active.
So please share this email around with other Keen amateurs who may have the microwave gear and those who are thinking about it, and have a fun weekend with many contacts on the microwave bands.
Also meanwhile check out these :
