US Amateur Radio Population Grows Slightly in 2018

The US Amateur Radio population once again grew by about 1%, based upon 2017 and 2018 year-end FCC database statistics provided by Joe Speroni, AH0A.

The 755,430 total licensees represent nearly 7,300 more license holders than those that were in the database at the end of 2017.

United States Population 2019.
According to the US Census Bureau's population clock, the estimated 2018 United States population (February 2018) is 327.16 million.

My trusty calculator gives a result of around 0.0023% of the US population hold amateur licences.

From population.net.au (http://www.population.net.au), Australia's population for 2018 was estimated at 25,010,000.

Last figure I recall for Australian amateur radio licences was about 15000 (and I can't find more accurate value. The value could be even lower once beacons, repeaters etc.. numbers are accounted for..)

My trusty calculator gives a result of about 0.000599% of the AUS population hold amateur licences based on the 15000 estimate.

The USA AR engagement rate is around 3.8 times that of Australia.
