New Spotter BETA test website

Hello all,
I have set up a test site for a new spotter website I am building.

I would like to invite as many people as possible to be testers and iron out any issues and provide feedback.

This site is purely a development BETA test site, so spots on the site are (mostly) fake.

There will be lots of bugs and things that don’t work, or things that are not implemented yet, but I would welcome all comments which can be submitted on the site's Feedback page.

You are welcome to use the site for real spotting and chat, but the site may go down for updates at any time, and all data will be deleted once the site is deployed to it’s own domain.

You will need to create an account on the site which will send you an email for verification, so the email address you use should be real. Remember to check your spam folder for the email.

Once you are registered, go into the user profile and set your latitude and Longitude so that distance and bearings are more accurate.

I am not a backend developer, so please be kind:-)

The test site address is:

The current web location is temporary for testing and revisions and the facility will be moving to a permanent stand-alone domain name in due course.
The new facility is looking great, and by the MS gang using it for both 6M & 2M spots and chat this morning, it is working well too.

I'm going to let the cat out of the bag (sorry Hil) and say that it is going to shift to http://www.vkspotter.com (maybe  https://www.vkspotter.com ) when it gets out of BETA. That will be its permanent home.

Keep an eye out on the new web location too.
For those of you who haven't tried the new spotter yet please come along and register and try breaking it.

Most of the bugs have been ironed out for version 1 but there might be the odd critter hiding that you can find.

Feature requests are gratefully received but check our feature request and bug tracker on the URL below first to see if someone has already requested a feature or reported a bug your experiencing.
