RD or Remembrance Day Contest will be August 15 - 16

Hi, this is Alan VK4SN with some important information on the  Remembrance Day Contest.

This year is the 75th Anniversary of VP day, celebrated on the 15th of August. That is why the Remembrance Day contest is held on the weekend closest to the 15th.

Changes to the rules have been made due to COVID19 lock downs and other restrictions. Only Single operator categories will be contested this year.  Even though clubs will be unable to participate as a multi operator station, it is suggested that club members might put entries in for the Teams category.  Three operators can nominate as a team, and on submission of the individual logs, the scores are added up as their combined score. A club can have several teams of three operators.  A club award will be offered to the club with the highest combined score of all their submitted teams. Remember to send your  team name, operators, and your club name to vk4sn@wia.org.au  PRIOR to the start of the contest.

Updated Rules for 2020 are downloadable from the WIA website. http://www.wia.org.au/members/contests/rdcontest/

The contest kicks off at 0300z (that's 1pm on the east coast) till  Sunday 0300z.

Categories available for 2020 are Single Operator, and Single Operator
 QRP.

Modes are phone, CW & RTTY, and Mixed.

Contacts may be made after 3 hours have expired since the last contact
with a callsign per band per mode.

Please note there are no 'blocks' of time in the RD.

 Scoring
 1. On 160 metres two points per completed valid contact.
 2. On 23cm or higher bands two points per completed valid contact.
 3. On all other bands one point. (no WARC bands allowed)
 4. On CW and RTTY, irrespective of band, double points.
 5. All scores obtained by the transmitting station between 0100 and    0600 LOCAL time, are tripled.
