suggestions for a drawing package - VK5PJ - 29-12-2022 Hello, I am looking to create some basic drawings of a yagi antenna boom where two different sized square tube material come together, not looking for a full blown CAD package, with its associated learning curve but something a bit simpler. Some inbuilt libraries of shapes and the ability to put some shading on surfaces. Any of you bright sparks have a recommendation that will not empty my wallet? RE: suggestions for a drawing package - VK5TM - 29-12-2022 FreeCad maybe https://www.freecadweb.org/. As for the learning curve, I've never found one that doesn't need a month of Sundays and an IQ of 200+ to get any usable output from it. RE: suggestions for a drawing package - VK2CSW - 29-12-2022 How about Inkscape? https://inkscape.org/ It is a drawing tool (i.e. illustrations, not CAD). More like Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw. RE: suggestions for a drawing package - VK2XAX - 09-01-2023 3D or 2D ? If 2D then you might try LibreCAD... https://librecad.org/ |
