Leaders in the various categories as follows - Overall 2-way station rank - VK4Z-QG62 - 102311 2-Way Spots - VK2EFM-QF56 - 79 Max TX Distance - VK5ADE - 13743 km Max RX Distance - VK5ZRL - 13231 km Max 2-way Distance - VK2DVM to N3IZN - 12184 km Comments from Leigh VK2KRR - I've noted the propagation is generally poor on both bands this summer. Much less Sporadic-E propagation and the E intensity is generally less than previous years. Probably the worst for some time in regards to Sporadic-E. However on 6m WSPR it could be said that its been the best on record in regards to paths to and from the USA, with numerous paths recorded from Chris N3IZN and also for the first time another station AA7FV was also receiving paths. Tropospheric Ducting has been almost non existent across the Tasman to New Zealand and the usual Bight Paths. How ever having said that, the VK5AKK path to Albany area has been present quite a lot and also an unusual path often present from VK3DXE to Albany area also. On both 6m and 2m the amount of days with no decent propagation has been the worst we have recorded, despite the numbers of operators participating being higher. We still have a lot of January left so hopefully we will see some more interesting openings before the end of the month. 2m Results Dec 22 below. 6m Results Dec 22 below January leg of the Leaderboard Challenge still in progress, results to be posted soon. |
