WARNING ON IMPORTING EQUIPMENT - VK3QI - 17-06-2018 Hi, For the last 4 months I have been dealing with a problem with importing some 50volt SMPS from Europe. The supplier initially sent the parcel by DHL and it appeared to have gone astray. After a lot of chasing up the tracking details it transpired that the parcel had been returned to sender (without notification), having been rejected by Australian Customs. The picture says it all. The sender had used a sealed up fruit box (Australian Bananas) to send the power supplies, figuring that a strong box would provide more protection. So if you are importing second hand equipment, make sure and warn the sender not to use a box or other packaging that might be prohibited by Australian Customs. Cheers Peter VK3QI |
