VK5 Microwave Activity Day Sunday 14th October - VK5ZD - 27-09-2018 The Elizabeth Amateur Radio Club is organising a Microwave Activity Day for Sunday, 14th October. Aside from testing equipment in preparation for the upcoming Spring VHF-UHF Field Day, it will also provide an opportunity for anyone interested in the microwave bands to come and see what it’s all about. We hope to have operators working from three sites; one north, one south and one east of the Adelaide CBD. The exact locations will be advised closer to the date. The equipment in use on the day will cover all amateur bands from 1296MHz to 76GHz. RE: VK5 Microwave Activity Day Sunday 14th October - VK5ZD - 12-10-2018 The Elizabeth Amateur Radio Club's Microwave Activity Day is on this coming Sunday from 10am. Anyone with an interest in microwave operation is welcome to participate or just come for a look. To the east David, VK5KK, will be at the top of Coach Road, Skye. To the north Iain, VK5ZD, will be at the northern end of Williams Road, Hillbank. At the top of the gulf Keith, VK5OQ, will be on the Copper Coast Highway approximately 700 metres east of Kulpara. The stations can be contacted on the club 70cm repeater, VK5RLZ, or 439MHz simplex. RE: VK5 Microwave Activity Day Sunday 14th October - VK5ZD - 14-10-2018 A fairly successful event, although activities were cut short around lunch time when a thunderstorm came though. Stations operating were VK5KK, VK5TE, VK5KBJ, VK5APN, VK5OQ, VK5ZT, VK5AIM, VK5KAF and VK5ZD. There were also quite a number of visitors that turned up to have a look. |
