KH6HME/b to run 2m WSPR soon - VK2KRR - 26-04-2020 Information from another internet group (RFZero), indicating we may see the KH6HME 2m beacon at Hawaii upgraded to run 2m WSPR as well as CW. That will be great to see some of the reports that come into the WSPR database once that gets going. I'll try find out some more information soon. Leigh. From RFZero - Thank you Bo (OZ2M) for getting this WPSR + CW mod running. It works perfectly and should be in KH6 land on the rebuilt 2 meter beacon in 4 to 6 weeks. This beacon has been running for 38 years. We are looking forward to a good ducting season from Hawaii to the mainland. This will be a great upgrade for KH6HME/b (KH6HME SK) 73 Chip N6CA RE: KH6HME/b to run 2m WSPR soon - VK7HH - 01-05-2020 That 4000+km path will be heard a lot more often now! RE: KH6HME/b to run 2m WSPR soon - VK2KRR - 30-05-2020 Latest advice from Chip is that the 2m WSPR beacon should be on air over the next few days. Some photos of the new 2m WSPR/CW beacon for KH6HME Hawaii site RE: KH6HME/b to run 2m WSPR soon - VK2KRR - 20-06-2020 New KH6HME beacon installed and in operation a few days ago. Running 2m WSPR on its own beacon frequency 144.277 MHz, 20 watts and two 7 element yagis, one beaming California and one toward Japan I believe. The beacon runs 100% WSPR duty cycle and has CW at the end of each WSPR transmission period. It was not long after the beacon was installed that reception reports started showing up on the WSPR database with one path over 4000 km in southern Cal and another just under 4000 km. |
