Get a ham shack, avoid council
#1
Now, here's an innovative solution to getting a ham shack in your backyard (in NSW) without having to do battle with your local council. Council challenged the family . . . and lost.

Good find Roger.

I guess you would need to install the tower base on the drawbar of the caravan to avoid structure problems in that regard.

It makes me wonder if a 'transportable building' needs a DA - we see lots of those on construction sites all around the country as work offices and support buildings.  Maybe they aren't covered by a DA as they are regarded as 'temporary structures', but define 'temporary'. No wheels & no registration with those though.

Hi Doug,

Yes. Those 'transportable buildings' on construction sites and quarries have "special dispensation" (shall we say); explosives magazines, likewise (Aust Standard, based on 20ft container . . .).

You could have a separate tower on a trailer - parked in your backyard alongside your "shack".
