23-on-23: Monday August 23, 2021

Welcome to the August 23-on-23.

Monday August 23, 2021 is the next scheduled 23-on-23 providing an opportunity to practice social distancing, whilst still communicating, and another opportunity to activate your 1,296MHz and other uWave home station capabilities.
Operations are typically conducted as follows:
Phone/CW
Start time: 10:00z / 8:00pm AEST / 9:00pm ADST
QRG: 1,296.100MHz

Digital and 2,403MHz+
Start time: 11:00z / 9:00pm AEST
23cm QRG: 1,296.225MHz (Mode JT65)
13cm QRG: 2,403.100MHz USB

Alternative QRGs:
On FM try 1294.0MHz [National voice calling freq]
And don’t forget to call on your local 23cm repeater
If you are in SE VK4, you could try the following repeaters:
VK4RSC 1273.300MHz/1293.300MHz [Sunshine Coast]
VK4RMC 1273.500MHz/1293.500MHz [Brisbane]
These events are designed to develop the level of activity on 23cm and above amateur bands.
Everyone is very welcome to participate. Please do not hesitate to share with others who you know have capability and see if we can continue to grow the numbers of participating stations, by promoting with your local club, on other forums and FB pages.
Activity is not limited to stations within SE VK4, and the growing contingent from VK2 and even VK5 in the last couple of 23-on-23 activation events.
As is often proven, if the participating stations are unaware of your operation, there is a high likelihood that you won’t be worked. [Quite simple and very logical really!]
Please take a moment to share advice of your participation here, and on the night log into VKSpotter [https://vkspotter.com/] ‘2m and above’ page and chat, so that attention to 'exploiting' the path can be achieved.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi all,

WSMUG will be on air for 23on23 mostly located in and around squares bordering QF56ig

QRG on 1296.1, 2301.1 & 3498.1

The Western Sydney Microwave Users group have all moved to 2301.1 MHz for 13cm.

We have VK2BRM, VK2AZ ,VK2YOC, VK2KQ, VK2XAX are QRV on 2301.1.

Others are re-tuning to make the move.

VK2YOC has also been running a frequency hopping 10mW CW beacon on 1296.1, 2301.1, 3398.1 & 5760.1 for people to test against.

Most of us are also on 146.450 for local liaison.

Hi Scott,

Just wondering if there might be any interest in considering an additional "Early Bird" session  on 23/23 during the day or early evening or both?
8 - 9pm+ can be cold & lonely in the shack down here on 23 for some.

Cheers,
Darrell vk2bls

Hi Darrell,

What time did you have in mind, I'm sure Hil or I could send some RF you way earlier in the evening Smile

And the other question would be.... have you moved to 2301.1 ?

cheers
Tim
