In total for the 2016/2017 Tropo season, there were 21 openings detected by WSPR across the Great Australian Bight path.
100% thanks to Derek VK6DZ without whom most of these would not be possible, and also Phil VK5AKK who is in a rare QTH atop the Adelaide hills also whom along with Derek has detected many of these paths which are not possible between any other stations, quite a unique situation, but shows how often the Bight path does open up. These two are also often the early indicator warning for the Bight openings.
We really need many more stations on the VK6 side of the path. We do occasionally see Wayne VK6JR and Rob VK6LD on the map. Someone operating from the town of Esperance would be of great significance if anyone from there is watching.
Looking forward to the coming summer.
