Plenty of forums on Skype or Facebook.
Also another note be mindful that ACMA could well be monitoring the Flogger and OZLogger a
case of "LOOSE LIPS SINK SHIPS!"

Is that what Admin said... to not have a 'range war'' (however you define that)? Forgive me if I misinterpret what was said, but surely it is reasonable to have a fair and open discussion about some of the issues we all face as amateur radio operators (and there are a few). People are entitled to have an opinion on important questions. All I would ask is that opinions be expressed fairly without the personal attacks and character assassination that we see on social media and sometimes on air. Where claims are being made about an organization, assertions about impropriety should be reasonable and supported by evidence. To do otherwise is to risk being easily dismissed and ridiculed. Is it worth forfeiting your right to legitimate criticism by indulging in rants? I think not. Also, groundless attacks on individuals might well lead to defamation claims in court and the possibility of huge payouts. As the publisher of the forum, Admin would potentially be a party to such an action and so would be fully justified in removing comments and banning the person who put them there.
Need we be fearful of the ACMA 'monitoring' us? To assume that they don't would be foolhardy. Does it matter if they know what we are thinking about the institutions that we depend upon to represent us? Perhaps it would be better if we were a united group with a coherent set of policies and positions, however, there will, in any pluralist democracy, be conflicts and disagreements from time to time. This may be regarded as healthy if it brings about positive changes to the way we do things.
Just my 2 cents worth.
