"Packet operation is easily accomplished on the FTDX5000 by connecting your TNC (Terminal Node Controller) to the transceiver, as in the illustration. "Packet" operation also applies to SSB-based AFSK data modes, such as PSK31, etc."

**On the FT-847, FT-920, FT-950, FT-1000MP, FT-DX1200, and FT-DX5000 you should also jumper Pin #5 to Ground.


I guess that it's the packet port that you will need to connect to..

Thanks for that.  Yea, once I read it a few more times it started to make some sense.
As far as the SignaLink is concerned, I have ordered the Module and Cable specific to the 5000 as they informed me that the plug at the rear of the 847 is different, which it is.
Not a biggie.
