We were informed by members of Raj's family on Facebook a few days ago that he had passed away.
He was 86 and living with one of his daughters in America at the time of his death. In Fiji I believe
there is no Age Pension to rely on, so Raj had to turn to family to support him in his old age.
Six metre operators may well remember Raj for activating Fiji on 50MHz back around the 1986 & 1987
period after I left a transceiver, 70 watt amp and five element yagi beam antenna with him. I will never
forget his help and hospitality while I was at his QTH in Fiji during that period.
