Hi all,
My liquid metal heat sink compound turned up so I've completed the Chinese 2m amp and performed some tests.
Final test for the night I got 416w out for 5w in
I had to take one turn off the input transformer and reduce the series cap to a few pF to increase gain to just about 20dB
Power consumption is 12.1A@50v so 600w in for 416w out and that computes as 68% efficiency ! - that's not bad
Next tests are 10 minute key down tests to see what melts, if anything.
