I know this probably isn't all that interesting, but after finally getting my ute back after the hail repairs, I have been able to reinstall the radios.
So, today, as I travelled down the Sturt Highway from home to Gawler (the next service town) I listened to the end of the WIA broadcast and the local SA news on theĀ VK5RBV 2m repeater.
At the end of the news a couple of stations were chatting, so I decided to dust off my newly minted (well, as yet unused I suppose) VK5 call and joined in.
Like I said, not the most earth-shattering of news but at least I have a working radio now and the seal has been broken on VK5CSW.
