As some may have seen in another thread, a fella around these parts who I run into on occasion is a former ACMA Field Officer. While chatting with him this morning on the train I mention the weird issue with the Optical on the sound bar appearing to be the path in for the RFI.
His suggestion as to why it may appear to do it is that the sound bar may have a switch that detects when the optical cable is inserted. This switch may be turning on the circuit that is being affected, or is actually the bit that is capturing the RF and introducing it into the rest of the unit.
