Actually I can see one problem, and that is the JT modes go obsolete very quickly. I was trying to find something that would decode JT65A on the VK4RTT beacon, and the WSJT-x suite has long abandoned that mode. Of course you could find a really old version of the software.
WSPR is great, but a new version is coming out in December that is not backwards compatible. Unless you have people keeping the software updated, you'll end up with a series of tones that nobody can decode.
What seemed like a great idea in 2015 may well be defunct in 2018.

Hi
Well, the PI-RX program has been able to decode PI4 since March 2013:
http://rudius.net/oz2m/ngnb/pi4.htm Since a couple of years MSHV has had a PI4 decoder too. More than half of all digital beacons in Europe use the PI4 + CW + carrier sequence.

Actually if you read this post -
https://ahrdf.net/forum/showthread.php?t...78#pid2878
and the WSPR version 2.0 as Peter suggests you do in that post, you will notice that the new version affects FT8 and MSK144 operation.
"WSJT-X 2.0 introduces no significant changes to any of the modes JT4, JT9, JT65, QRA64, ISCAT, Echo, or FreqCal"
