Well That Looks Bare
#1
Geez the outside of our house is looking a bit bare.

I've started removing the antennas in preparation for selling the house.

I had forgotten just how long they'd been there - when I removed the bargeboard mast it revealed the original exterior colour.  I guess there's another job the patch and paint that...

Moving somewhere more RF friendly I hope where (e.g.) the NBN in some form doesn't cause interference?

I am hoping so.

But who knows until you look at the waterfall?

We are trying to relocate to VK5. I say trying as the plague and now the batsh1t-crazy property market is making it difficult.

At least you won't have to change your callsign with the interstate move, not these days under the revised callsign rules Smile

It does present a bit of a conundrum.

I use the WIA email redirection service and most times I use my WIA email address - so changing callsign presents other issues, but I would also think it would be better to have a VK5 callsign if operating from there.

I guess I could hold two callsigns.

I also need to look a bit deeper into the new rules regarding using the the VK2 callsign permanently in VK5 to see if there are any curly issues like the need for /p or the like.

In any case it will be a while until I need to resolve those things as we will most likely move to a temporary place until we can find the property we (read that as my wife) really wants  Smile

The new rules re callsigns and living in a different state don't require the use of /p /m or any other appendage, just carry on as per.

As for getting a VK5 callsign, that's going to be a personal decision, but as you say, will mean changing a lot of stuff.

If you do move to VK5 and change your callsign, I can edit your forum profile ID / callsign to your new one.  Quick and easy process.
Alternatively you can create a new callsign-based ID but will need to use an email address different to the one currently in use.

Cheers Doug.

Once we overcome the small hurdles of the plague and a frantic housing market I'll let you know!
