New shortwave service from the Bendigo area
#1
Saw this below in the July 2022 edition of Australian DX News.  The frequencies sounded familiar, so I checked an old Codan profile and found they used to be used by the ABC from Alice Springs.

Quote:An apparent new shortwave service from the Bendigo area of Victoria has emerged without fanfare on two frequencies, being widely heard. Here is the extract from ACMA’s database:

Announces on air as transmitting from “outback Victoria”, though Neilborough is just north of Bendigo – not exactly remote. The licensee also holds an amateur licence, VK3ASE. Announces a mobile number on air for “talkback”. Audio and transmission quality is good, reflecting appropriate technical expertise.

Just log on to one of the kiwisdr sites eg http://sdr-amradioantennas.com:8071/ for a quick listen.

Then you'll know if it's worth hunting for the radio Smile

That's quite a fun tool.

Once I come back inside later it might be worth a play.

Thanks

I think the station IDing now as "Shortwave Australia" is on test and settling in right now.

Ironstone Range is a good SDR. I use it regularly here on many bands. Some of the others are in suburbia somewhere and don't do quite so well.

Damien,
Thanks for the link. A nice quiet location, better than the one in suburban Melb.
