Turning off updates win10

How can I turn off automatic download and install in win 10?
I would prefer win10 to just tell me there are updates available so that I can download and install at a time that suits me rather than have them rammed down my throat.

I googled "how do I turn off automatic updates in win10" or words to that effect.
You will get many suggestions but some will say the same thing so I used that.

Interestingly, some security updates download and install regardless.
The only other option is to stop all updates, then let them rip when you feel like it!

Select properties under the Network Status settings then enable the "Set as metered connection" option. This will stop it downloading any updates.
